So last night before going to bed my level was 7.1 and at 3am this morning it was 7. When I got up to feed the dogs at 6 it had shot up to 14.2, I always take my first dose at this time as if I wait my levels go sky high, so I took my usual 24 units of Levemir and I took 22 HumulinS, this varies between 20-24 depending on my levels. I then go back to bed for an hour or so and when I retested at 8 before breakfast it had risen to 15.6; I took another 8 units of HumulinS to cover my breakfast of 4 CP. I tested again at 10am and it has risen again to 16.1! Any suggestions?

Might be a silly question - but have you checked your insulin is ok and still in expiry and has been stored in a fridge below 8 degrees, I would chuck this insulin out anyway just in case it's this and it does sound like your insulin isnt doing it's job properly - otherwise change your injection site, you may have hit a lumpy area ? I try and rotate sites as much as possible, so background now goes in my bum which is nice and fatty and short acting goes in and around my tummy, but rotated all the while.

Hope it's coming right again, hate the highs and lows !!
