Hi my prick test is over 8 in morning when I first wake up but quickly goes down and is in "normal" range after eating and for rest of day, Any ideas on how to control this?. Ive also heard that berberine supplements help but would like advice on this please.

It's virtually impossible to control, it may improve with continued good eating, but it's the levels throughout the rest of the 24 hours that matter most.

It's a normal thing. Our livers helpfully dump glucose into the blood to get us going in the mornings - it's usually called "dawn phenomenon". It's not really controllable, and it's not a "diabetics only" thing.

If my experience is any guide, these morning numbers eventually come down as blood glucose levels fall. They are usually the last to reduce - mine took about a year or so after fingerpricking was consistently reporting "normal" levels. I think I might already have been officially in remission. There is not a lot we can do to change things - it's a liver function not connected to what we last ate.

I have no knowledge of berberine at all.

Thanks for your help and advice I’m getting my h1…. Checked at end of month so will be able to check that I’ve not slipped from ore diabetes into type 2
