High morning readings

After getting up the last 2 mornings with a thumping headache I decided to take a blood sugar reading, yesterday was 11.5 and today was 11.2 and then after breakfast rose again to 15.2. and wasn't until I exercised on treadmill that my readings came down to 5.7, could my problem be the 'dawn phenomenon'? Anybody got any ideas why this might be happening?

It could be the DP but I suspect you need some or additional tablets? What are you on if any currently? Are you keeping the carbs in your diet down?

I had this problem.......do not eat after 7pm,increase insulin slightly before meal & if on slow acting insulin you may have to increase units,before going to bed,but always check with diabetic clinic

Now in morning 6.5 to 7.5
