anyone got any ideas as why when i get up in the morning my sugars are high? , but when i go to bed they are ok iam type 1 on novorapid and lantus

Could be a couple of things. One of them is something called dawn phenomenon. This I s natural dump of sugar into you system by the liver between the hours of 2am - 8am to find out if this is it you need to test through the night. Your DN Should advise on lantus changes.
You could be taking too little amount of lantus to get you through the night. Again testing through the night has to happen.
Or strangely you could be taking too much lantus causing low sugars that you are sleeping through then your liver helpfully dumps a load of sugar into your system. Again you need to test through the night to find out.
I would test then phone the DN for advice.

Hope this helps.

As mentioned probably dawn phenomenon. But, could be a low followed by a high. Way to see would be do as usual but set alarm for 3am and test. Usually, dp would start here onwards. If you are within range at 3am and still high in the morning would show it is dp. Would repeat a few days later to confirm. Not alot u could do on mdi really, as I had this and now pumping, able to have a higher basal rate at this time. If you were to increase your lantus, you may hypo before 3am. However, by testing at 3am may see your too high, which would you may need more lantus, but if too low you may need less.
If in range, ask your dsn about pumping

Type 1, pumping nova rapid
