High readings
I had a couple of heroes chocolates lastnight woke up this morning reading was high,I took more than enough insulin for breakfast to bring it down but 2hrs after it was still high 18 is that normal to be still high after insulin

Hello there!
Insulin doesn't always work but if it is still high after 4 hours I'd check your site for lumps and the insulin (is it in date).
What's not good to do is to panic and push more insulin in (stacking the doses) as this will likely cause a bg crash and then you will be stuck onto a rollercoaster.
Sadly insulin in type 1s doesn't work as well as the kind made by fully operational pancreases and it isn't just about the maths of 'covering' your carbs.

There are so many anomalies , unfortunately diabetes isn’t an exact science , I’ve had similar experience and to be honest still haven’t found an answer , when my sugars go extremely high I tend to over compensate , I find when I know my sugars are dropping I can control them better and I don’t feel as **** as I do when they are high , my method isn’t recommended but it works for me , experience and experiment has found this out , it is one of the many unexplained situations diabetes throws up ,
Just keep checking sugars regularly and if still high after 4 hours I would probably take more insulin ,
