Hi was wondering if anyone can help. Iam type 1 and currently take nova solo star 50 units. My rapid acting is Apidra and take approx 20 units before every meal, I also take 1500mg of meterfomin each day.
My readings are still between 9 and 17. Can anyone help or advise.
 
With that much insulin, in combo with the metformin suggests a bit of insulin resistance. Hard to know without more info. if overweight could be improved by loosing some weight. Exorcise in general is good. Do you carb count for your insulin and how many carbs do you eat a day approx. best to discuss with your consultant as could be you need more insulin,less carbs, or more met tablets.

Hi. I agree with Brett. I suspect you may be a bit overweight? If so, do review your diet and reduce the carbs. This will help you lose weight if needed and reduce blood sugar. You would need to gradually reduce your insulin in parallel so do seek the guidance of your GP/DN to avoid the risk of hypos.
 
Thankyou for your replies, yes iam overweight and need to lose a couple stone.
