High sugar reading after gallbladder removed

A day after my gallbladder was removed I started having high readings in the 20's. Is it common to have high readings after surgery? I'm eating very very small portions throughout the day for example 1 egg and a half a slice of bread and a small cup of tea. Would this cause high sugar readings?

Depends whether you are taking insulin for your meals or not really.

Are you applying sick day rules and correcting for the post surgery highs?

Hi,
Stress and infection, pain can raise your blood sugar levels, just keep a check your wound is not oozing thru the dressing.
Fasting and an GA disturbs your normal routine. You'll soon get back under control again.
You could always phone a specialist diabetes nurse for advice.
Test your BM's regularly for now, have you slightly increased your insulin?
Hope you feel better soon
Take care

it will mess with your bloods so get some help. it should resolve but its too high to ignore.
