Hello
My hb1ac came in this week at 6.9 (no meds type 2) due to investigating my kidney and liver function.
Turns out it was my appendix so it's now been removed and I'm on the ward.
Now they've taken mostly post meal readings but here are some numbers:
22,18,14 and now 10 with the latter being this morning before food.
I can see they're going down, but wanted some advice on what to do next if anything at all, as one nurse said see your GP but I argued you gave me pudding peas and chips followed by ice cream, I'm not expected 5 after that!
I'm normally well diet controlled but had recent fluctuations due to this now hopefully resolved problem.
Thanks very much
Chris

Any illness or operation puts stress on the body and is bound to have an effect on blood sugar, and the tradtitional hospital diet of chips and pudding and what not else is not helping either.
Hopefully you can be discharged home very soon and get back to your normal eating, although your blood glucose may still be a little higher than it normally is, you need to give yourself a chance to settle.
Tight control will help the scar heal better.
I wish you all the very best, get well soon x
