Hi just wondering if anyone else had this problem? Around 4 to 5 hrs after eating and taking novorapid blood sugars climb again after being in normal range. This happens mainly after evening meal at 6pm, so end up higher before bed. This has started in last few weeks.

Hi. It sounds like your background Basal insulin may need to be increased or split if you don't currently split it. A simple test is to see if your BS goes up or down whilst fasting for a good few hours.

Hi, I've had similar issues and have had a very uneven split at times (like 3 in the eve and 15 when I wake, though these fluctuate) so you may need to experiment with different doses for overnight levemir compared to day levemir.
I also notice my bloods rise if I don't levemir as soon as I wake up. If I eg have a shower then do my morning dose, I already start rising. I know if it meant to come on quite slowly but I find an immediate morning dose as I wake has sorted morning rises for me. Sounds like more basal testing and tweaking might help. Just remember changes can take a few days to properly show their effects.
Hope that helps a little.
