Higher eye pressure behind one eye

I went to the opticians yesterday as I noticed blurred vision in one eye (at long distance)

I have been short sighted for a number of years, but never needed glasses for it.

when they did the eye pressure tests (a number of times) they noticed that I had higher pressure behind my right eye (which is the smae eye I am short sighted in)

I have been given a letter to get my doctor to refer me to an optologist at the hosptial.

Anybody suffered from this?

I am on 500g of metformin twice a day.

I have always had higher pressure in one eye due to operation when I was younger. This has nothing to do with my diabetes however, just due to the operation.Opticians always get excited by this!! :D I have had several referrals to Ophthalmic surgeons but they always say that there is nothing to worry about as the pressure remains constant ,though unequal.
It is always better to get this checked out however as changes can occur .
