Fasting blood this morning 9.2 highest it’s ever been. I should add I’m quite immobile due to 3 bulging spinal discs and cruciate ligament in knee injury. Help appreciated

11.6 but that was right at the start a week after diagnosis and first day of self testing fasting levels. Since then the highest I have been is 7.8 the morning after having a Chinese a couple of days ago - Sweet and Sour chicken with a shared rice. (Won't be having that again and the first time rice since cutting it out a few months back). The Chinese was an experiment to see where I am at and won't be repeating that again and back on bare naked Rice.

Hi @Smarty_pants A higher than normal Fasting Blood Glucose can be cause by over 40 different things, including:
What you last ate.
Illness or injury
Exercise or lack of exercise
Lack of sleep
Stress
Medications such as statins and steroids
Contaminated reading (traces of juice or sugar on pricked finger) or faulty test strip.

I think that highest I have ever had was around 12mmol/l
But that was most definitely a one off - after rushing downstairs to break up a cat/fox fight in the front garden, brandishing a broom.
Very dramatic, and out of a deep sleep too.

I wouldn't worry if it is just a single instance. As @ianf0ster says, it could be many things, both good (Santa is coming!) and bad (stressful interview/meeting). Unless it becomes a pattern, I would just chalk it up to life's little stresses.
