Have had meds changed from glicazide to metformin 4 days ago. Went out last night was bad and had 3 ciders for friends birthday. Know that it was a bad idea. Tested sugars before bed 25.5. Two hours later felt generally unwell frightened and shaky. Tested sugars 15. Took 5 hours to feel well again. Is this normal
 
I would say it was normal after the 3 ciders. I,m not a drinker so not sure how high levels go after drinking apple based drinks
 
Sorry but drinking cider or beer is like drinking sugar. Try becks or other low carb lagers. There are lots to choose from.☺

I've drunk an absolute shed-load of cider in my time but sadly that's all gone for me now. I think I read somewhere that ( sugarwise) you could have a pint of sweet scrumpy or twenty-three glasses of red wine. Now there's a happy thought.
