Hello everyone. My daughter has had her pump now for about six weeks and although we are starting to see improvements in her sugars,we still have one very frustrating problem. We are having to correct her at night, she can go as high as 18 some nights. The main concern is that it is not every night. She can go to bed with her supper one night and we will have fantastic readings duing the night. However a couple of nights later she can go to bed with more or less the same reading her supper and still need a correction in the early hours of the morning. We are finding this very frustrating as it doesnt seem to matter what we do,what her supper is or whether or not she need a bolus for it.This has been going on since we got the pump.Has anyone else come across this problem? We have tested her nighttime basals and they were fine,so i dont think that they are the cause of problem. However any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.thanx martina

I would look at other factors like what type of food she had for supper and what sort of activity she's had during the day. Some slow release or high protein foods might be causing the readings to go up later on during the night. An inactive day as opposed to an active day may also cause a difference in blood sugars later on in the night.

Also...try for a week of changing the sets every 24 hour before tea.

I had one batch that as well as hurting me would send my levels high every other night at 2am......made accuchek aware....they sent a new box FOC (different batch) and I sent samples back to them for testing. Now I am using a different batch number...I am back to doing every other day and no more highs every other night at 2am.....

Trying for a week, is not going to rob the NHS bank...

More than likely will be activity/adrenaline etc...but worthwhile just checking anyway....and if it is the set-particular batch number-then make accuchek aware and they will replace them FOC-so your PCT won't actually foot the bill.....
