Holiday / Freestyle Libre

Newly diagnosed T2 and just got back from holiday. Ate lots of salads but was a little more free and easy than I would be at home. Didn't wear my Freestyle Libre as I use the pool a lot and worried it may come off. Got home, put a new sensor on. Readings significantly up on those before my holiday, and time for BG to return to normal after meals has increased dramatically. Can't help but wonder whether a) the holiday has had something to do with this, or b) the libre sensor is not working as it should. No changes in diet to before holidays and been taking metformin throughout. Anyone else had any experiences like this?

It is clear to me that one sensor is not very much like another. You have to do a few comparison tests with a regular meter to find out if they are giving good information. My last one read high and this one reads low. It says I went down to 2.0 in the night and I'm a T2 not on insulin.

I haven't been on holiday so I can't help you there but if you had more alcohol than usual then that will affect the readings.

Thank you. My gut instinct is this is a dodgy sensor - let's see what happens in a couple of weeks when it changes over.

What constitutes a dodgy sensor is a matter of judgement. I usually find them useful in the going up and down department and not so much in the absolutely correct readings one.

I did get one changed but it was more or less flat lining and no good for anything.
