I'm just started to plan my first holiday in the sun since getting the pump! It's a nice relaxing holiday in Spain as I'll just be finishing university!
Can anyone offer some advice on how they manage their pump on holiday?
I intend on lying on a sun lounger most of the time and don't know what to do with it! Will it be okay in the heat/sun???

I bought a Frio and tucked it into that when I was sunbathing and took it off to go swimming (it can be taken off for up to an hour). I took pens & needles with me in case the pump broke and brought the letter my doctor gave to me (suggest you get one for airport security if you haven't already got one!). Oh and try not to do a set change when you're a bit drunk! Haha!
I'm going with my two small children so I'm going to be in and out of the pool all day. It's been suggested that I check bolus every hour or so but not wear it all day long. I don't fancy a pump holiday.
You can get a waterproof pouch, or if your pump is waterproof then wear it, but guess you need a swim suit that will allow it.
Otherwise, bolus as often as you can - hourly is probably better than a pump holiday but you can do the same on pens too (regular bolus) but need to take care if your correcting hourly on pens if you also have long lasting in the background.
In any case have a good holiday and try not to let the pump spoil it
@tim2000s I'm using the Medtronic 640g which I was led to believe is waterproof however my friends broke when she went swimming :/!
I definitely like the idea of the frio pack from @Chas C
I tuck mine under a towel when sun bathing and take it off to swim. I always go through more cannulas and insulin vials cos of sand and the like and insulin getting overheated. I have a 640G too and even though its waterproof I am not willing to risk it lol The only thing I hate is the odd circular shaped white bits I am left with cos I don't tan through the cannula site lol My stomach looks all spotted when I come back
I used a plastic sandwich seal bag and put my pump in2 that then put both bag with pump in2another bag & as it was very hot (over100*) used a wet cold towel in a child sand bucket . Worked brill . No sand or pump got wet
I also use frio bag and have a bumbag type bag to put them in for when I need to get up for a cold drink! Not as intrusive as I thought it would be on holiday, now I don't even think about it. Enjoy yourself.
