Holiday

But what do you do about NovoRapid etc that only has a 3-week shelf life? Frio bags are brilliant for open insulin pens, but QA needs actual refrigeration at 4 degrees or the clock starts to tick. We face a 4-week holiday this year. Local Dr and new prescription? My Danish prescription won't work in France, say - let alone in Peru.

Well it's supposed to, but several people on here have noticed with their Libres that the effectiveness of QA seemed to drop off after three weeks, so have been chucking it then and starting a new pen.

If true it would especially affect people who take small doses, so the pens last longer. Smidge and Tim2000s, I think, mentioned it. Ask them?

You don't say what type of accommodation you are staying in Lucy, but some hotels hire out fridges for guests to use in their hotel rooms, so if your staying in a hotel ring them in advance and ask if they provide this service.

Novorapid, provided you keep it cool in a Frio wallet should last 4 weeks without any deterioration.
