Hi all

This maybe a stupid question, but I'm shortly going to be going on holiday and got a question about my testing kit. I'm type 2 so won't be travelling with insulin but am I allowed to put my testing kit in as hand luggage? i.e. my meter and lancelets??. Will that cause a problem going through security and having sharps?

thanks for the help.

Testing kit is fine in hand luggage. I would just get a note from your doc prior to travel though explaining that you are diabetic and require frequent BG testing. I always take a letter with me but I've never actually been asked to show it. However, the day I don't have a letter, you can bet someone will ask to see it ! Enjoy your hol, Mo

I take insulin, meters etc when I travel and I always carry double what I need (just in case) in my hand luggage. I've never been asked it about on any airline so I'm sure you'll be fine. Have a good holiday!
