Home brew beer v home brew wine

I brew both, but which one is better for me, being a diet controlled t2..i ask only because even though hb beer has more sugar, hb wine both red & white sends my bg level higher? Im due to make some more beer/wine soon and dont want to "do" myself any harm!!
 
No idea, although I do partake of a glass of commercial Red which seems to keep Bg levels lower at times.

I think you need to do a scientific test by drinking and testing..........

Red wine has little effect on my bg, as Ken says the only way of knowing is to test.

Seems like the only way to find my answer is to test test and then check out my results by testing again..o well here goes a few {bottles}
 
You need to do the calculations regarding the final conversion of the sugars into alcohol.

Initial hydrometer reading and final reading and you can calculate the final sugar conversion.

Some is always left but you can convert most sugar by making weakish beer (3% ABV) and using nutrients to stimulate the yeast and keep it working.

Wine is much the same, just make it weaker and ferment it out fully.

After a few long weekends testing the relative pros & cons of home brew & home brew wine the results are...both make me feel good for a wile, but are possibly no good in relation to my diabetes, as my levels did rise. So now im " testing" the benifits of spirits. I am hoping the results are positive, as a weekend "without" is not a weekend
 
It is very kind of you to do all this research for us, saving us the trouble of doing it ourselves
