Honeymoon period for new Type 1 Diabetics

I understand that during the first two years (the Honeymoon period) after diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes it is possible to reverse the condition through alternative therapies, such as Acupuncture or something similar.
Does anyone know of any success stories relating to this? Any knowledge of what the newly diagnosed T.1 diabetics can do?
Thank you.

It is not possible to reverse Type 1 Diabetes as they currently do not know fully what causes it. The only option is having treatment (insulin) to manage your blood sugar levels.

Hi there - unsure where you got 2 years from and the ability to reverse it with alternative therapies ? there isn't a set period for the honeymoon, some may experience a few months, some may not even get this.

If you're newly diagnosed ? then I can appreciate the question, however sadly once type 1 has been diagnosed there isn't any way back from this, I also questioned my diagnosis thinking I could do something to try to prevent full onset but it is inevitable sadly. The best way to look after yourself is to keep your levels as stable as possible, be vigilant with your control, it is suspected you can prolong the honeymoon phase if you maintain good control, I was told this by a t1d consultant, also just learn as much as you can and become a t1d expert, best wishes J
