Honeymoon phase

I've recently experienced moving out of the honeymoon phase, it's very depressing for me as I now feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and now I'm guessing all of my doses because my insulin to carb ratio is all wrong. Anyone else find this depressing?

I do remember it happening but it's so long ago now, just keep the faith and things will settle down eventually.

I remember it well.

I ended up living for a couple of months on 3 breakfast recipes, eight main meal recipes and a few snacks until my insulin ratios settled. Having known carb values, keeping records of insulin dose & persevering helped work out which way the ratio was going.

A bit boring for a while, but once everything stabilises you can start to experiment...

I still keep detailed records now as the ratios alter slightly all the time.

Not out of my honeymoon phase yet, but I've had a very wobbly ride. Some days I need a lot more insulin than others, even when I measure the exact same meals.

I can often tell which "mode" I'm in (it seems very on/off, rather than gradual) by what's happening with my long-acting overnight. I have a Libre though which saves me having to get up all night to find out.

I guess you will have to try recalculating and keep a close eye. Having fixed meals/recipes helps.
