Right, rant time. Getting thoroughly annoyed these last two days

Yesterday 5.2 on waking, 1 unit at breakfast, a short walk to the bus stop (less than 1 mile) down to 4.1 - extra snack needed
Lunchtime 6.4, dosed as normal, presentation after lunch, a bit of adrenaline, 10.4 sort of expected so no worries.
Back hope later that evening, pre dinner 3.7  , reduced dose to correct upwards. After dinner 7.5, OK. Bedtime 9.4.

This morning, nice bowl of porridge, 2 units, 4.7 before hand, 2 hours later 3.7, another quick extra snack.
Lunchtime 4.4 before, NO insulin, 15g carbs, post lunch 6.4

Not impressed by what's left of my pancreas.

That's it, rant over

Yup, with you on that one. Was diagnosed in earlier this year and am still in honeymoon period. I have been experimenting with food to see how I respond but I find it pointless. I'll eat the same meal with the same number of IU insulin and 2hrs later have totally different readings. I've even reached a 2.5 BG before and that was less than pleasant!

Sometimes I think to hell with it, just eat whatever I want as my pancreas is still kinda working; may as well enjoy this brief period. Then I see sense and think, if I can get the skill of managing this condition now, I will be able to deal with it when my pancreas shuts down completely.

So many things have an impact; exercise, brain use, stress (cortisol/adrenalin can cause glucose release). Now is the time to experiment I would say; we may not get many more chances. I recommend creating the same conditions around the same meal. So have pizza one evening then do exactly the same the next day. Compare them and then try again but have a run post meal. I know it is crude; especially as our pancreas is on-and-off but gives an idea.

I do sometimes think I just want to be out of this period as can then manage it myself without my pancreas butting in. However, as new to it all the more help the merrier.

Snap Dave. I'm insulin needs are continually decreasing now..... Then suddenly my pancreas doesn't work one day. Complete shambles!
