How do i know if i am still honeymooning. My insulin to carb ratio is 1:12 and it seems to work ok. But my long term Levemir is quite low 4 units in the morning and evening. The diabetes nurse said the long term insulin is usually about 20 units per day average depending on the person etc. So would this mean i am still honeymooning - Thanks

Would indicate that you are either very sensitive to insulin or still able to produce some basal. cant say for sure only a c peptide test would determine how much insulin you are producing. Either way if its consistent (ish) and feel good with good readings...

hi, its difficult so say as we are all different
i was taking 12 u long acting for a good few yrs but now im on 21u due to being less active and putting on some weight, as brett says only a c peptide would show whether u are or not

I'm on similar meal ratios and 2u levemir once a day.

At last hospital check (January) the doctor suggested I was honeymooning at all and that I COULD be just really sensitive. But we're not sure. I've been diagnosed just over a year.

There is the cpeptide test have others have mentioned but, for me personally, I decided I wouldn't act on the results so the test is unnecessary.

My control is not erratic like many in the honeymoon, which is where the suggestion of insulin sensitivity came from.
