  • I have type 2 diabetes am 5ft 7 and weigh 8stone 6. I do not wish to lose weight what diet do you suggest

Pretty well depends on what your situation is if your blood sugars are in the normal range and your HbA1c is also low then no diet would be specifically indicated.

In other words a bit more information as to the kind of diet you are following at the moment and your blood sugar status may be helpful in determining what advice would be best to give

@kellett To keep blood glucose levels down (in a T2 diabetic), but to keep weight up, you need to keep carbs/sugar low and make sure you have adequate fats and protein. Butter on your vegetables, cream in your coffee, for example. I see from an earlier post of yours, you were concerned about cholesterol. Cholesterol is a natural and life essential molecule, made by your body. Diet has little effect.

Also, looking at your earlier posts, I suspect that the "insulin dependent" which appears below your avatar, may be wrong. This is a forum glitch, but you can alter it by going on to your profile.

In @kellet's profile it has this:

About

Gender: Female
Birthday: Jan 19, 1940 (Age: 78)
Type of diabetes: Insulin-dependent Type 2
Treatment type: Diet only
Medication: none at the moment was metformin

So it needs changing.

It is a known glitch. @kellett if you’d like to go into your profile settings and select the other ‘Type 2’ option to the one you’ve selected, it should solve this contradiction that some Forum members see. Strangely I see the correct info, no insulin mentioned.

Once the poster changes it to T2 it displays properly in Chrome.

I have spoken about this on another forum, and the admins suggest updating the xenForo forum software to the latest version which they use.
