Hospital referral

Today I received an appointment for a gastroenterology clinic at the hospital I attend for my diabetes. There's just one problem, I have no idea why. I haven't seen my GP for ages and don't have any gastrointestinal problems.

Thank goodness I received the all clear from my bowel screening test, earlier this week, otherwise I would have been worried sick!

It looks like the NHS has done it again. Somewhere, there's probably a very worried person waiting for an appointment but it has been sent to me by mistake. I wonder how often this kind of thing happens!
 
More than we will ever know. So glad you had an all clear, but like you say someone is probably desperately waiting for that appointment.

Sorry if I'm being a bit dense but why don't you call them and find out? I think if it were me I would - that way also ensuring no more appts were sent.

I intend phoning tomorrow (Monday). The appointments office will be closed at the weekend, otherwise I would have called them on receiving the letter.
 
Yep, I'm being dense! Completely forgot yesterday was Saturday - I'm only on my first coffee (that's my excuse lol)
Good luck with getting it sorted:)
 
It turns out it wasn't a mistake after all.

My diabetes consultant referred me when he saw my blood test results at my annual review. Apparently I could have coeliac disease.

This wasn't a very nice way to find out!
