Type 2 Hot weather

I used to be more comfortable. Last couple years I’ve noticed I’m not but now with the D I understand why.

I have drank gallons. I must be nearly at 3 litres since this morning. Strangely I’m not peeing as much as I normally do. I pee every 2 hours (mainly because of lessons but I’m bursting by then) today going but nothing in comparison.

Back on forxiga but only half dose. That’s fine nothing for the side effect of peeing lol. Think it’s a bit worse actually.

Sugars off the forxiga rose slightly to 8s in the morning but nothing major but I started getting signs IBS was coming back and I can’t cope with that and diabetes so I went back on but half the dose.

I have done a lot today though, about in town earlier, came home and cut the grass, walked to gig and back as had to drop car at Kwik fit! But even before the walk I was struggling to keep up with water intake. Now I’m home I’m parched.

I’m almost tempted to lie in bath and see if the water soaks in!!

Hi @Cana ,

Personally, I find myself more insulin sensitive in the heat.

I sing in two rock bands. I normally keep water handy just to "wet the tubes" during a gig. Normally a bottle down by the monitor? Along with a seperate drinkable hypo treatment. (But that's just standard insulin dependant procedure.)
Just like fasting the afternoon prior to a gig I make sure I don't consume massive abouts of fluid in one go, restricting the diaphram & breathing as a vocalist. (But this is just ritual accommodating my personal diabetes regime.)

I'm not sure what the set up is with your Rock choir? But you could keep a bottle handy by your feet..(or if you use a music score sheet stand? Or mic stand. Oddly there are bottle holders on the market that can clip on & accomodate your beverage of choice..

Have a great gig!

They are quite picky. No lyric sheets nothing. So can’t have bottles by feet. I basically just had mine to the side and someone kept passing it to me.

We had a warm winters day here yesterday the temp got to 25° celcius here in Bundy, beautiful day playing bowls kept up the fluids no problems.

That’s a warm summers day here lol!!

Felt lousy yesterday evening. Absolutely awful. Aches, headache and just felt nasty.

Woke up this morning on an 8 which for me is quite high.

Had chicken thigh which normally does nothing and was messing around indoors and got up to 9.4 which is high for me.

But it’s also ladies time which I guess isn’t helping!!

Having an extra lazy day today!!

I’m a firm believer not every bug we encounter and fight will make us actually ill. Just the process of fighting it off and winning may be enough to mess with bloods. As a small child my eldest would spike awful temperatures in the middle of the night, possibly vomit as a result and by morning be perfectly fine with no signs of illness.
