The Rainbow Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

And yet still I'm frustrated with the local Dr's surgery. Basically one hand doesnt inform the other hand and then problems arise.

I've had my annual diabetes check with a new member of staff. My HBa1C was 40 so according to this nurse below even the pre-diabetes level. I know it was higher than last year but I have been harrassed and threatened with stopping my medication if I didnt attend my check-up. I'd have attended my check-up a lot earlier if the reception staff hadnt kept changing their minds between yet more blood tests, or to see the GP. This has been going on since January when I first had my blood test.

I did mention to the practice manager that perhaps staff should liaise with each other before sending letters out, or making phone calls. I told her it wasnt good for my mental health to be constantly have change of plans from one member of admin staff to another.

After speaking to her I had another letter sent to me asking me to book in with the nurse, dated February, sent 7th March. And supposedly containing another blood form - erm nope.

So now after having my cheeck-up I have to go for another blood test in 3 months time and book in to see the nurse for a quick recap.

What a waste of time and resources when the NHS is not faring so well
