I had insulin while pregnant 26 and 21 years ago and then Byetta and Victoza about 4 years ago - all of which worked really well. The Victoza so well that consultant took me off and said 'goodbye'!! However, this past year I have been very unwell with various things and my BG went through the roof (102!!!), so I'm back on the meds - I can't remember the name of the new one (unpronounceable anyway!), which worked for a bit, but seems to be going off the boil now and numbers are rising slowly. I do carb count and try to keep under 30, but certainly under 50.
My worry is that he said if this doesn't work, it will be insulin next. I am not sure that I want that for the rest of my life???
