I have my consultant apt next week and I’m hoping they prescribe it. My BMI is 33 (obese) and I think I have some insulin resistance (my ratios are between 1:3 and 1:5). I do exercise (Pilates/walk everyday) but my appetite never seems to fulfilled? Everywhere I’ve read some T1s have been prescribed it and others haven’t. If you have been prescribed it was it by you diabetes consultant or GP? How did you get it prescribed as it’s off label for T1?

Hi @Aldsunshine and welcome to the forum!
I can’t comment on how or if type 1s get Semaglutide, however due to people, not necessarily diabetics getting these type of drugs off label, there are now global shortages, which may not be resolved til mid 2024. Diabetes U.K. (not this site) and the Department of Health have recommended that off label prescriptions should not be prescribed to new patients until the shortages are resolved.
I’m telling you his as you may not get prescribed it yet.
