Do you mean when on holiday or when living abroad as someone from the UK?
Or do you mean for people born and living in another country than the UK?

All of the above. I want to hear all experiences
In that case, I'm born in the Netherlands and live in the Netherlands.
Everyone, with or without chronic illness needs a basic health insurance, which costs somewhere between 100 and 120 euros a month. Low incomes are compensated.
The most important health care is included in this basic insurance, including all diabetes care. You can opt for extra insurance for things like dentist or physiotheraphy, which doesn't impact diabetes care.

The first 385 euros you spend in a year are your own risk, so as a T1 you always spend it. GP care is excluded from this, you never pay for a GP visit.

So no problem with insulin, it's all covered.

It's sold here in Australia for $6.60 (PPS price) with a script from a GP etc. There is a safety net of ~$320.00 spend more than this on medication and then it's free.

I have a friend in France that is diabetic, all meds & insulin are free, also, the treatment for any connected health issues, hospitalisation, doctors, nurses etc. Anything outside of that she pays for or has insurance cover. Saying that, she's so bad that I think it is now all free for her.
