Sorry you are having a tough time. I suffer with cold sores too. I do see slight increases in blood glucose levels. A sort of advantage is that I lose appetite, as fasting does help to get control back, along with plenty of fluids. Duvet days until I feel better.I've got an horrendous cold virus and also herpes on my lip its so sore and I feel so ill .
My morning reading this morning was 6.5 yesterday I think it was 7.4 .
I'm type 2 and don't have any medication - I've been losing weight was diagnosed in March this year so far lost 2 stone 4 lbs . It's been hard for me cos my dad died in April and that put me back as I lost my appetite then it came back and I have been on a rollercoaster with my emotions ,bad days and good days . Then this really horrendous cold virus making me feel rotten .
Sorry for the rant
Thank you nearly out the other side of this nasty virus now both of themI've never had a cold sore before but like most I've had some bad ass colds - I can remember it was almost a year ago I posted on the forums about having a bad cold/cough and pink eye just before I was heading to a music festival - I find that when I'm hit by a cold I have to test myself several times as it's a bit of a mystery how my BGs are going to go - sometimes ridiculously high and other times too low - regardless it does affect how the body works.
I'm sure I don't have to tell ya - your best bet is to get back to your normal as soon as you can. Take it easy, try to sleep and stay hydrated. Whenever my spouse gets cold sores it's usually because she's been under quite a bit of stress. From the sounds of it so are you - I'm no expert in dealing with stress but do your best to try and control it.
Have a speedy recovery!

I've still got the cold but not as bad - done nothing but eat since this virus .A cold will often send your BGLs nuts. Your body is now focusing on the fight it has with the cold virus; it will think about the BGLs later. This can happen up to 7 days before you notice that you have a cold and continue for a few days after you think that your cold has gone.
you
