I met a man the other day who has a Grand Mother who is 96. He is in his 40s and remembers that she has been type 2 for as long as he can remember. She never progressed beyond tablets.
Interestingly he is also type 2 as is his Mother and several uncles.
I have no idea how this condition is going to progress for me and most days I can be quite optimistic that come what may I will be around for a while longer yet in relatively good health.
I have slowly, very slowly come to terms with the fact that I am not 20 any more (now 41 in May) I cant eat what ever I want and without my faith I am unlikely to live forever. Right now because of this diagnosis I am forced to confront my lifestyle and get control of it. Without the diagnosis I would have carried on eating rubbish and starting the exercise regime "tomorrow".
As I say today I feel its a positive thing. Tomorrow I might feel different and lament my sorry state (Like I did yesterday) :?
