How far can I go with HBA1c

I would like to thank everyone contributing to this forum. It has been very helpful to me. One year ago, my HBA1c was 7.8. I was put on glucophage XR 1 x 500mg. I watched the cabs very carefully and recorded 6.4 six months later. Today I rceived the news that my HBA1c is 6.1.
I have cut down drastically on cabs and religiously taking my med with breakfast. Should I still strive to go down further? Can I introduce a rigorous exercise regime and stop the medication (for an experiment)?

Hi.
6.1 is very good, you may want to go lower. As you have reduced the carbs then it might be that stopping the Meds might send the numbers up again ? I personally would continue on the Meds and add some exercise to help lower the HbA1c even more. Depends what you are comfortable with.

Before stopping any medication you should always discuss it first with your Doctor.
