How long have you been diagnosed type2

Hi everyone, I'm back again.. the vicious circle I can't seem to stay out I was just thinking about when I was first diagnosed and it hit me how long ago that actually was. I've been extremely lucky to not have any damage that I am aware off ( I'm sure there will be something happening I'm unaware of though!).

How long ago were you diagnosed type 2 and have you now got in under control or are you in the same boat as me?

I was diagnosed with a reading of 110 in January 2023. I had a blood test a couple of weeks ago and I am now 38.
I don't eat anywhere near as much as I used to and am very careful not to have many carbs evey day and exercise as much as I can.

Unfortunately I had already damaged my eyesight and have had to have two lots of laser surgery on my left eye. I'm very concerned that when I go for my next checkup that they'll say I'll need more.

Thats amazing! You have obviously worked hard and had alot of self control to gain that figure. ..I'm sorry to hear about your eyes, fingers crossed it will be good news. Sometimes, surgery is needed but hopefully your vision is improved and your news is better. Good luck!

My last hba1c reading was 114. That was about 18 months ago, and I haven't been since. I'm just braving myself for going as I know the results won't be great. I was diagnosed in 2018 I think. Scary how long ago that seems!

2006 but went into remission for years and years so after a while I ignored it. Eventually got round to getting tests and Hba1c 129 !!!!!!!!
Now on 1 Metformin tablet and 2 insulin types Trujeo and Trurapi this was Feb 2025
Metformin had such bad effects on me I some times could not leave the house and other times have to plan my routes where toilets were it was that bad, hence the 1 tablet a day

My eye screening is today 29/7/2025 I am worried about what my results could be
