Prediabetes How many carbs per day for a pre diabetic

Anyone have any advice on how many carbs per day I should have I know everyone is different but what level would make a difference to my hba1c test
 
How many carbs are you eating per day now?
 
It varies but never more than 50 there will be days were it's 10 or 20 then days at 50 a don't have a set amount a don't want to lose any more weight
 
I think the question is wrong. What you are really asking is how do you reverse the pre-D and return to normal. One thing that is important is waist line. The insulin resistance causes an escalating waist line. Building muscle and eating less will probably be enough. If you wish to reduce your carbs think about going down to 150g-200g per day at most and see how you get on.

have you been low carb for a long time? Were you diagnosed pre-D on this amount of carbs?
 
I'm enjoying eating the way I am it's stopped me eating junk that you don't need
 
Since April no my diet wasn't great although never overweight but ate a lot of rice and carbs which I never knew were bad I always thought rice was OK I'm fit and feeling fine just don't want to panic if I maybe gave a day of 100 grams of carbs if that makes sense
 
that is excellent so have you started eating this wat since diagnosis or before? If it is since then I expect you will have reduced your HbA1c to normal or will soon. If you are still losing weight then you have a couple of choices:
1. increase your fat intake, or
2. increase your carb intake a little

They both have some merits. very low carb and high fat has been shown to increase insulin resistance somewhat but it doesnt really matter because you do not need it due to the low carbs and protein

The increased carbs keep your pancreas and liver "exercised" and willing and able.

The choice is yours - your body, your life and only you know how you want to live.

For info I vary mine weekly. I generally medium carb 150g-200g/day but some weeks I will do 90g and other weeks I will do 400g!. Then again there are weeks when I will do very low calorie just to clear out my system. I like to vary and keep it alive.
 
Good reply I started doing it once I got the results which was a test for something totally different I have had a few days I've had a few too many beers and stuff I shouldn't eat nut I've stuck at it just scared I increase my carbs and end up with a bad result
