That's a moderately low carb diet already. Provided that it's not also trying to be low fat (which would make it seriously hypo-caloric and almost impossible to stick to) then well done by your endo.Hello,

Alicki, you didn't mention if you're T1 or T2, what diabetes medications you're taking and what your BG (or hba1c) levels are like. How low you need to go with the carbs really depends on what you need to achieve with BG levels or weight loss etc. Personally I'm eating about 60g carbs per day, which gives enough leeway for one or two pieces of fruit a day, but fruit contains sugars so definitely try not to go overboard with it. I'll typically have something like either an apple or a pear plus some berries.Whao!!!!! I'm impressed. I'll try 50 first but cutting out fruit is too much for me. The rest no problem
