I've got one pony, a Highland gelding who I've had since he was 5 (he's now 19). While I constantly miss having spare cash that totals more than 10 pence, I can't imagine not having an equine in my life now :)

I did have a horse on loan when I was a lot younger. Unfortunately he died when I was at Polytechnic (found dead in the field, believed to be a heart attack and he was over 20 so not bad for a horse) I would love to ride again but first finance and then weight have prevented it. It is one of those things that the diabetes might be good for as it is forcing me to take a hard look at my weight.

I know what you mean - I've not ridden in years due to weight (my pony is an expensive field ornament currently), I'm hoping I'll be able to ride again soon once I have myself on a suitable eating plan for the diabetes
