How Many Hours Fasting For Fasting Test?

Seems pretty senseless to me, as they don't know if I'll be coming in at 7AM or 1PM.

When I have the full lot of blood tests including the fasting ones, I do not eat after 7:00 pm.

I get to the pathology shop around 7:30 am just after the early morning rush is being processed as they open at 7:00 am. I pick up a number and the staff come around and get the number and the request form, I then tell them that I have a baggie of heart tablets to take so I get triaged in quickly.

I have breakfast to take my medication at the cafe at the private hospital where the pathologists are.
