I have given up being polite.. I was recently hounded out of my local surgery PPG for having unacceptable views that the surgery wasn't all that great at treating their T2 patients. Criticism was not going to be allowed.

That's disgusting! And pure bullying! Everyone is allowed their own personal opinion (acceptable or not!) because they disagree with you doesn't give them the right to 'hound you out' I'd make a formal complaint. You are entitled to air your views JUST LIKE THEM who disagree with you!
