he did thyroid function test and chest xray. Am told all results are normal - but this is the doctors practice that didn't inform my husband his kidneys were failing...Am not really reasurred. Have decided to ask for print out of test results.
Unsure which tests, and dont understand enough about thyroid to ask intelligent questions. Plan is to ask a nurse friend, once armed with printout.Asking for print outs or seeing your results on-line is the only way to go. NEVER accept "normal" or any other similar words from a HCP. You could easily be teetering on the edge of not being normal - and you need to know. Which thyroid tests did you have? Some are not worth having because they don't tell the full story.

Problem is we will be moving in 3-4 weeks, so not a lot of time for investigations.
mine is recomending 129g per day. But it is an american version. Not sure if their guidelines are different. If you read up BulkBiker recommends amount per kg bodyweight. Using that calculation it came out at 73g for me.According to my carb manager app I seem to be averaging about 50 grams of protein a day which is way lower than that recommended, my grandson keeps nagging me about it says granddad you need more protein at your age than some one younger he is probably right carb app manager recommends about 145g a day
I can see that Mr Locket and i are not eating enough protein. I have between 35-40g a day, and he get around 50g. We are both in our mid 50's and Mr Locket is 6' 6" tall and muscular. Thanks for this information people.
No doubt @Tipetoo knows this but just for other readers.....I was going to work out my protein intake yesterday but my head ended up hurting.
3000 grams of bacon / 14 days = 214.285714 daily.
48 extra large eggs / 14 days = 3.428571 eggs x 60 grams = 180 grams daily.
I stopped there...
That's an appetiser!a 200g sirloin steak
I never got that far with my calculus...No doubt @Tipetoo knows this but just for other readers.....
Don't make the mistake of using the weight of the food as the amount of protein. For a 60g egg there is 8g of protein and for say a 200g sirloin steak there is about 43g protein.
My rump steaks are around 500 grams, most other steaks are around 350 gram. That's an appetiser!
Omg,am struggling to.get 70gAccording to my carb manager app I seem to be averaging about 50 grams of protein a day which is way lower than that recommended, my grandson keeps nagging me about it says granddad you need more protein at your age than some one younger he is probably right carb app manager recommends about 145g a day
