How often do you change the lancet?

Every couple of days if testing 3x a day, a bit silly really as I am one of the lucky ones who gets them free from my doc............ so could change every time..........

Me too.

It just seems like one less thing to worry about in terms of avoiding an infection.

I change them every few days or when I remember. Always assumed you don't need to change every time else why would there be a reset button on the device. I tend to use the same finger over and over too and always suck the blood off my finger after. Saliva is supposed to have antibacterial properties isn't it? Anyway it's worked for me so far.
 
Started out by changing it for every test. Then every day. Now i change it when it starts to hurt and I don't get blood. Been pricking my fingers for almost 3 years now.

But I change it for every test if I'm travelling or outdoors.
 
Change with every test. Get all my testing equipment free so see no point in risking infection or inaccurate results.
 
don't use them , use the needles for your insulin pen. They are so sharp they don't hurt and you only need to touch your finger to bleed.
 
I used to leave mine in for ages, Then didn't test for a long time, but now I'm back into testing I change each time. Seeing as I have 300 testing strips and 300 needles, I can easily change each time.

My nurse said not to test, was bad for my fingers! So not telling her today that I'm testing.

Donn't worry I just suck the blood off afterwards - perhaps a vampire in a former life.....
