How often do you have your HBa1c tested?

I had my first appointment with my DN on April 24th. During the appointment, he scheduled another appointment for me on June 17th. He said to make an appointment to have my bloods tested a week or so before. This is less than two months between appointments. Is this normal? Will I have a HBa1c test every two months from now on?

Very much doubt it, usually it's a 3 month gap, depends what medication / regime you are on, or to be on.
I normally only have my HbA1c every six months.

I'm sure someone with a better answer will reply shortly.

Best of luck though :)

....I usually have my blood tested once a year but if you're newly diagnosed, your DN probably wants to see how you're getting on after a couple of months of adapting to a new way of eating....:)

After my first 3 month result DN said she would see me for annual checks only

I have an HbA1c test every three months. Other tests once a year.

Initially when first diagnosed and when my HbA1c was still quite high I had it checked every 3 months. Now my HbA1c is stable it is checked every 6 months with an annual blood check of fasting lipids, UE's, LFT's, Thyroid function, HbA1c and urine

I had my first one on the 12th of February. Going for my 4th on the 4th of June.
So just less than monthly so far.
