I am on a animas pump, and I have a perscription for 200 test strips per month. I like the secuirty of testing regularly, on average I do 10 tests a day. I need to test before I bolus, and to check after a set change. Some days I need extra insulin, and will need to do a temp basal. I don't like leaving things to chance. There is no set pattern to this. Sometimes I can be having a bad day, and will need to test more often, sometimes I will do less. Each day is different. My doctors are very good, I did have to change to a slightly cheaper meter, but I have no problem getting my test strips. I would love a cgm, but I can't afford to fund this myself, having the testing strips helps me have the control I need. Last hbac is 6.3, so must be doing okay. When I get an upgrade I will hopefully go on the animas vibe which comes with build it cgm I have been told. I might be able to test less often then.
