Hi Rob,
Test as soon as you get up, (fasting test), before meals and 2hrs after meals and before bed.. If you are introducing new foods then do an extra test 1 hr. after meals as well. Some foods will even spike much later than 2hrs. so it is also advisable to do extra tests say 3-4hrs after meals if you are not sure of your response.
Keep a food diary and your results so that you do not go over old ground and remember that illness and stress will also affect your readings.
