Hi,
I was wondering after everyone (who Is on insulin) began treatment how long did it take to see improvement? I was recently admitted to the hospital because doctors were concerned over my 14-16 levels after I was diagnosed with type 2 during a routine check up. The hospital began insulin therapy today and my levels have been between 9 and 11. This is however an improvement from the 14 and 16 I saw. My real question is does it take awhile (days or week) of insulin treatment before I can see numbers fall into the normal range? Or is this supposed to happen as soon as I begin insulin treatment. I am just curious and worried about my little bean. Thank you for any response.

Took me two days before my vision came back and three days before I wanted out to get back to work :)

I was admitted with a BG of over 27 blurred vision, aching muscles and feeling very very ill.

I've been taking Humulin M3 Insulin since April. I started on 43 units a day and this has been tweaked up to 88 units a day since June. Finally I can say the fatigue and headaches are going and hopefully my HbA1c levels will be lower at my check-up in December. Hopefully I won't sleep through Christmas like last year lol
