How to guesstimate HbA1c

PseudoBob77 - Question for you?? I am trying to work out how to convert average blood glucose readings into an approximate HbA1c reading in the new mol/mol units. Based on what I read in the string above it doesn't seem to work for me. Is there a quick and easy formula I could use in order to get the result in the units that are currently being used by the health professionals. Many thanx for your help - or anyone else who may be able to help.

The only formula i had for conversion to mmol/l was, "(7.3mmol/1.583)+1.583=hba1c 6.2%

Keep in mind that there can be a pretty big variation among people. The chart above shows the data that the conversion formula is based on.

For my 5.7%, average blood glucose can range from 4.2 to 8.3.

Based on my estimates using a Freestyle Libre, my average blood glucose is around 4.8 mmol/mol, although the formula gives 6.5 mmol/mol.
