How to sleep with a pump?

I normally just sleep with my pump clipped to the waistband of my pjs, but I’ve often wondered why some turn their pajama bottoms inside out and wear it there in the pocket. What is the point of turning the pj bottom inside out? How does that help more than leaving them on the outside?
Not a pump user but I guess that keeps the tube inside so no risk of fingers, dogs, or small children accidentally pulling on it. Also less chance of the pump falling out of your pocket. :)

Well with shorts/pjs inside out the pump and tubing aren’t free roaming around the bed - instead it stays in the pocket and the tubing is inside too. Then you don’t snag it with your hand when fidgeting

I guess I’ll have to try it in pj pocket turned inside out and see it how it works. Thanks.

You have plenty of suggestions about where to keep your pump, mine goes in my Pj pocket. But am interested to know why you are having so many alarms. Are these highs or lows? If there is a pattern you should be able to adjust your basal rate to even things out. I hate being woken up!

Good point. I know that I used to lose a lot of sleep due to notifications…drove me mad. Everything changed when I went into automode and now they are pretty infrequent.

Im the same I sleep like the dead most nights so I don't hear my alarms if they go off and it sometimes wakes my wife up who then wakes me but I now have a really loud annoying sound on mine so it wakes me up. Try changing the sound until you find the right one that wakes you up. It may take a little time but eventually you'll get there.

Hey y’all!
I’m a 15 y/o girl with DT1, who got her first insulin pump that is attached to the body with a slang/hose/tubing (idk what it is in English as it is not my first language) for about a year ago.
When I first got the pump my doctor said that most people have the pump under their pillow when they sleep, but that don’t work for me as the pump doesn’t stay under the pillow. After a while it is under me, and that is very uncomfortable.
Instead of under the pillow I put the pump on my pyjamas trousers which is so much more comfortable. But as I am a deep sleeper, I NEVER wake up from the alarms (even though I always have it on highest volume), so my mum has to go up almost every night and she already works too much. I also want to be able to take care of myself when my parents isn’t around.
How do you sleep with your insulin pump? Any tips? Do you know if it is possible to sleep lighter? How?

Thank you in advance

I allow mine to roam free it follows me like a lost puppy when I toss and turn, it’s always there

You get so used to it I just automatically pick it up when going to the bathroom in the night

I’ve not pulled out the canula in the 5 years I’ve had a pump

The only thing that sometimes happens is I p1ss off the dog if he lays on top of it and it vibrates it if I have to slide my hand under him to recover it

When I was on a attached pump, I used to just let it loose in my bed. It would go where it wanted. The pump tubing I had was very strong indeed. But I am now on omnipod5 and dexcomg6. So my phone and controller are on my bedside cabinet and on charge.
