Hi all,

I have been on Novamix for about a year now, i take it 2 times a day.

THe problem I get with it is if I do overeat it is not poss to do anything about it, so I am wondering, will my doc give me something like Humalog to go with it? so if I eat and my sugar is high after 2 hours or so I can take some Humalog to help bring it down?

Surprised your diabetes care team haven't switched you over to MDI (multiple daily injections) by now. On MDI you have far greater control over your diabetes and you can correct levels more easily when on this type of treatment than twice daily injections, ask your consultant about making the change!

Once you switch to MDI and been on it for around 6 months you can enroll on the DAFNE course(dose adjustment for normal eating) which teaches you carb counting and insulin adjustment techniques giving you far greater flexibility and much improved control.
