Guessing this may be a common thing but does anyone struggle with constantly being hungry? I’m not a huge weight but it could easily spiral if I wasn’t careful. Does anyone have any tips to help with hunger?

Heya @briony1

Having type 1 doesn't just affect your insulin production it affects other hormones too, one is Amylin which affects appetite and satiety and the feeling you get from having eaten a meal and feeling full, that's depleted which means you can feel hungry alot of the time, also if you're running high/low this affects hunger levels too.

I believe in the US that doctors are more proactive in dispensing synthetic hormones, but we don't see this in the UK, here's a good article on the subject: https://insulinnation.com/treatment/amylin-the-other-hormone-affected-by-type-1-diabetes/
