Sorry for the title. Just been a bit strange. Wasn't sure what to go with.

Over the last day or 2 I have noticed I have been getting hungry. Just got in from work and nicked some bits of ham and cheese from the fridge.

BG is 5.2. By no means low for me. I was expecting a 4.?.

Is it just my system running empty? I was uncomfortably hungry. Full on grumble noises from the ol tummy.

This is the 3rd week of omad.

That's what they are there for.

If you are hungry, the best thing to do is eat something.

OMAD doesn't always run as smoothly as you might want, and there is no benefit to be gained from fighting it.

The usual advice with fasting is, do it until you don't feel right with it anymore. Whether that's a fast that lasts days or one that lasts until dinner... If you're uncomfortable, have that ham & cheese roll-up.

If you're hungry then eat.. maybe try mixing up your OMAD with a TMAD every so often.

Often the simplest ideas are the most effective. But you're not being a muppet at all.. just experimenting..

Thanks, all it took was a bit of cheese and some ham. Really not much, almost seems wrong to eat it. Genuinely feels like cheating somehow.

When I dod my mini-carnivory stint, it virtually became OMAD, as I was having one meat feast a day, but sometimes needed a bit of a nibble a bit earlier than the feast. The phase I coined for myself was NOMAD (Nearly One Meal A Day).

To be honest your predicament is one of the reasons I so dislike labels for ways of eating/tratment or whatever. For me it's about adhering to what works for me. If I do that, it's quite easy. If I ge too wound up in what the label, it can get harder, if aspect x, y or z isn't good for me.

I eat to my meter generally, adjusting cacrbs for blood glucose and fat for the bathroom scales.

Try not to over-complicate things for yourself.

As others have already said, this is perfectly fine. Eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re not. No need to necessarily adhere to predetermined meal times. In fact, in the sprit of ancestral eating, it’s not even ideal. As you’re seeing, your body is incredibly smart and will tell you when it needs fuel. If you felt that there was a very small increase in blood glucose - and if there really was - this could be explained by your liver manufacturing some glucose because you’re hungry.

Eat real food, when you’re hungry, and nature will take care of everything for you. When given the right tools our bodies are miraculous machines.

Lol. I like NOMAD.

Jim we do appear to look at things very much the same way.

I really really like the notion that I have kicked in a long past process for my body.

If it's created by evolution for our species survival/progression before our ability to corrupt our darwinian progress by our own meddling it has to be a good thing I feel.

Neolithic man lived into his 70's We have come a long way since.... Oh.. Hang on.
