When people say 'Pacific' instead of 'Specific' :-)
If any type 1's out there have been offered a pump and are considering the pro's and con's, I've just had my retinopathy test results back and I am in the clear! This time last year, I had back ground retinopathy that had been found the year before. Now, i'm not saying that the much tighter control I've had on the pump has helped reverse the retinopathy but really, what else could it be?!

Anyway, I know not everyone gets given the opportunity for a pump but if you do, go for it as despite the massive commitment it requires I can honestly say, it's changed my life - in a good way! :D

Hi Debs,

That is great news - congratulations.

I'm attending my first familiarisation session next week on route to getting a pump. Thursday morning is when I get to talk to other pump users in person and hear about their experiences. I know I said I wanted to try and meet up with you, but weekends are so scarce at the moment, I thought... if I can book time off work as a doctor's appointment to do this, then so be it. And work agreed :D

Only a couple of months to go and I'll be one of you.

Sam.

Hi Sam, that's fab news! Really pleased for you and also good news about being able to speak to others. Understand re: the busy weekend thing but the offer is still there. I think you will really like it when you get one! Keep me posted :D
